New Ways Coaching

What is coaching, anyway?

Coaching is the “physical trainer” of the mental health field. It is not therapy, and should not replace therapy. Coaching does not treat mental illness, rather coaching develops mental health.

Having the support of a trained professional to offer insight and accountability while working towards established goals is paramount. Like walking into a gym and not knowing where to start, improving mental health can be frustrating and confusing. Having a trusting relationship to experience and explore emotions, thoughts, and behaviors is not only healing but provides clarity and direction when life leaves us feeling stuck.

Coaching also provides tools and science based knowledge to help increase client functioning. In a safe and nurturing environment, clients are able to explore and develop self-awareness. This growth in knowledge and functioning often leads to healthier lives for clients, whether professionally, spiritually, interpersonally with their loved ones, or within their own sense of self.
